This document sets out the
minimum requirements for hardware required to
run Captell Enterprise V6.
Workbench
The Captell Workbench can be
installed on any hardware running Windows XP or
above. Captell Workbench must be installed and
available to each user responsible for
developing and maintaining Captell report
objects.
Minimum requirements:
- Processor:
1.7Ghz (dual core preferred)
- Memory: 500Mb (2GB+
preferred)
- Disk: 150Mb
Service
The Captell Service can be
installed on any hardware running Windows XP or
above. To improve performance Captell Service
should be installed on the same platform running
the Captell database.
Minimum requirements:
- Processor: 1.7Ghz
(dual core preferred)
- Memory: 500Mb (2GB+
preferred)
- Disk: 20Mb
Web
The Captell Web can be
installed on any hardware running Windows XP or
above and Microsoft’s Internet Information
Service (IIS).
Minimum requirements:
- Processor: 1.7Ghz
(dual core preferred)
- Memory: 500Mb (2GB+
preferred)
- Disk: 20Mb
Database
The Captell Database (SQL
Server 2008 Standard or
Express) can be installed on any hardware
running Windows XP or above.
Minimum requirements:
- Processor: 1.7Ghz
(dual core preferred)
for SQL Server 2008 Express
Dual+ 2Ghz+
for SQL Server 2008 Standard Edition
- Memory: 500Mb (2GB+
preferred)
- Disk: 4Gb
for SQL Server 2008 Express
4GB+
for SQL Server 2008 Standard Edition
Notes:
- All
components can be run on a single desktop.
- For
corporate installations a dedicated instance
of SQL Server 2008 is preferred.

Service, IIS and the Captell Web component
should be installed on the same hardware.
