Starter sets
to help you get your reporting established
quickly
With the
certain knowledge that any reporting system
takes considerable time to implement and that
most organisations have very few resources to
dedicate to the reporting process, we at Captell
Developments have produced the following basic
sample reports and "Starter sets" which will
assist you with your initial setup. The
sample reports show a basic report outline
covering the specific discipline, the starter
sets include all the Captell report objects
necessary to create the report with your data.
The packages have been
designed to be relatively generic and data
source independent. Implementation will
require tailoring to your specific data source.
To implement a starter set,
download the package by clicking the link below
and unzip the package to a directory on your
Captell server. Then, using Captell
workbench, import the objects in the directory
to your Captell database. You can then
examine the documentation included in the
package for further tailoring steps.
Refer frequently to this page
for further packages as they become available.
If you have some data that you
need collated into a report please feel free to
contact us to discuss
your options. In most cases we are able to
generate a sample report using your data in a
few days. This is a free service
provided we can utilise your de-identified
sample data in our starter sets.
ITIL
management reports
The following ITIL reports are
based on information contained in the book
"Measuring ITIL" by Randy A. Steinberg
available through Trafford Publishing. Their purpose is as a
management tool to report on the
effectiveness
of the
discipline within an organisation rather than as
an operational report.
As there are many different
operational systems currently in use to support
the various ITIL disciplines we have created
these reports and their associated starter sets
using "made up" data stored in a spread sheet.
Implementation of these reports in a live
environment will involve:
- establishing links in the
Captell system to your live data using
Captell table definitions;
- standardising this data
such that is looks like the data supplied in
the spreadsheets using Captell query
definitions;
- updating the thresholds
to reflect your requirements; and
- opening the report
document.
PDF sample documents may be
