The reports and charts listed
here
are intended as illustrations of some of the
possible reports you may wish to consider
implementing. Captell is a generic
reporting system that can process virtually any
data to produce virtually any report.
Reports can be viewed
by clicking the bulleted item.
General reporting
These reports show examples of
grouping a number of different subjects (that is
sources of information) into a single document.

Customer dashboard
(NEW)
This report shows
several subject areas in a two page
dashboard style layout. The report was
designed for a customer that provides ITSM
to a large number of companies in their
group. The template includes a
"Customer" parameter that allows the
document to be built for each customer
automatically.

Global performance report
(NEW)
Here we see a report for a global
organisation that reports several statistics
against their service catalogue for each of
their global regions
Windows Capacity and performance reporting
The following reports are
samples taken from the Captell Windows reporting
suite, this is provided in the Captell samples
database shipped with the Captell package.
The package provided contains all the reporting
infrastructure required to produce these reports
are more from data supplied by SCOM, PERFMON, CA
Unicentre and many other Windows monitoring
packages.

Availability and Capacity report
(NEW)
This report demonstrates capacity and
availability for individual services being
consumed by a number of different customers
within this organisations group. It is
a very good demonstration of the use of
Captell mini charts to show a large amount
of information in a relatively small space.

Server
dashboard
(NEW)
This report from our sample database, shows
a number of key Windows Server capacity and
performance metrics presented in a web based
dashboard. A "ServerName" parameter
allows the user to view different servers.
Of interest here is the Notes: section at
the top of the dashboard. This marks
an "Annotation point", a facility in Captell
that allows authorised users to provide
commentary on a report. The commentary
is saved with the document and parameter to
displayed when ever the document is
displayed.

CPU
Server detail
Shows details
of CPU utilisation of all servers of
interest. A simple report allowing
easy identification of servers of interest.

Entity
summary
The entity
summary report is simply a way to group
different related servers. This type of
report may be used to report servers by
region, servers for a particular application
of servers of a particular type. It is
driven by a mapping of server name to entity
name, so to report servers for a particular
application all that is needed is a list of
servers and their respective applications.

detail
The server
detail reports is for an individual server.
A high level of detail is provided
sufficient for basic capacity analysis on an
individual server basis.

The Captell audit service
utilises the various Windows Capacity and
Performance reports above in addition for each
audit a single one off summary report is
provided, an example of which can be seen here.

Most chart types can be
combined with others such as Line with Bar, this
allows for very sophisticated chart development.
